Canolfan S4C Yr Egin is a digital and creative hub, led by University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) and located on the campus in Carmarthen. The iconic centre boasts an auditorium, superfast connectivity, state-of-the-art office and hotdesking spaces along with post production facilities for professionals and a varied programme of training and community activities. 

Welsh language broadcaster S4C is the  anchor tenant and many leading creative and digital businesses co-locate within the centre.

Since opening in 2018 Yr Egin has developed as a cultural venue, business centre and creative cluster, a key catalyst that inspires collaboration, develops talent and enhances the status of the Welsh language.

Over 50,000 people have visited Yr Egin to view premiere screenings, cinema and theatre productions or to take part in conferences, meetings and livestreams.

During the year Yr Egin celebrated 5 years (2022-23) it generated an economic impact of £21.6m in the Welsh economy.

This project, based in Carmarthen, Yr Egin will deliver: 

  • 427 jobs
  • 363 sq. metres of workspace
  • 150 skills and training opportunities 
  • 167 construction workplace employment opportunities 
  • £89.5 million contribution to regional GVA

 

The delivery model for the 2nd phase of Yr Egin project is currently being considered by the University and its advisors.
