The National Institute for Sport & Health (NISH) project is led by Swansea University in partnership with Swansea Council, Swansea Bay University Health Board, Hywel Dda University Health Board, A Regional Collaboration for Health (ARCH) and key private sector partners. It will focus on:

  • Dedicated research and innovation space within the Sketty Lane Sports Park at Swansea University's Singleton Campus
  • The creation of an access route from the M4 motorway to a 55-acre NHS-owned site at Morriston Hospital, improving access for the development of a future innovation park.
  • Creating a sector focused network of expertise.

This Swansea based project will deliver:

  • 1,120 jobs
  • 2,000 sq. metres of Sports Tech and Med Tech research and innovation space
  • 700 sq. meters centre for commercial and academic collaboration
  • A network of over 300 cluster companies
  • Over 100 innovation and commercial opportunities
  • £150 million contribution to regional GVA
  • Sketty Lane Innovation Centre

    A development at Swansea University's Singleton Campus establishing an environment that supports the development, testing and evaluation of medical, health, well-being, and sport technologies.
